About

Alec Rovensky is a first generation Ukrainian-American architectural designer. He is a ‘24-’25 U.S. Fulbright Grant recipient currently based in Berlin where he is pursuing a M.Sc. in Architecture Typology at the Technische Universität Berlin.

Previously he was the Residency Director at the Institute for Public Architecture where he oversaw the creation of a new overnight residency program for designers on Governors Island in New York Harbor.

Alec has worked at Jenny Peysin Architecture, a Ukrainian-led design firm based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He was a Next Generation Council Member at Madame Architect, a Mentor at the Architectural League, and has worked as an engineering aide at the World Trade Center site with the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

He holds a B.Arch from the Syracuse University School of Architecture where he completed his senior thesis titled Terra Dispositions, which received a citation in thesis design excellence and was awarded a Renée Crown Honors research grant.

His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, as well as in exhibits in Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, Berlin, London, Florence, Syracuse, and New York City.
