Role: User Interface Design Type: Website

For an overhaul of the Institute for Public Architecture’s website, a three-tier navigational model was developed to cater to three types of experiences; a one-minute, five-minute, and extended visitor. The landing page’s ‘stacked’ design and the menu’s ‘headers’ allow visitors to quickly and efficiently find information about the organization, current events, visiting, and contributing. Those who wish to delve deeper are welcomed to browse each heading’s ‘sub-menu’ to learn more about Fellows, projects and past events. At the deepest level, the site serves as a comprehensive archive of the IPA’s projects, events and history and acts as a resource to applicants, current Fellows and the public. Further, the site utilizes a strong graphic and textual language to emphasize the IPA’s core programs and encourages exploration through a ‘related’ footer on each page.
